The price of the basket of essential goods of a set of food products covered by “VAT zero” was 2.45 euros cheaper in the last week, now costing 126.34 euros, according to calculations by the Portuguese Association for Consumer Protection (Deco).
If on July 26 the “VAT zero” basket monitored by Deco cost 128.79 euros, this Wednesday it cost 126.34 euros, this is a reduction of 2.45 euros (-1.90%).
In the last week, horse mackerel was the product that most rose in price, having recorded an increase of 21% (more 75 cents) compared to the previous week. This is followed by courgette and orange (both +13%), deep-frozen peas (+12%), golden apple (+8%), carolino rice (+6%), sea bream and gala apple (both +5%), packaged sliced cured cheese (+4%) and carrots.
