On Tuesday, IPMA issued a yellow warning for the islands of the Eastern group (São Miguel and Santa Maria), due to precipitation, sometimes heavy, which may be accompanied by thunderstorms, until 2:00 pm local time (3:00 pm in Lisbon ) today.
The same warning extended to the islands of the Central group (Terceira, São Jorge, Pico, Graciosa and Faial), and was initially active until 11:00 local time (12:00 in Lisbon) today.
In a new warning, the IPMA extends the bad weather situation for those seven of the nine islands in the Azores until 9pm local time today (10pm in Lisbon).
Contacted by the Lusa agency, a source from the Regional Civil Protection and Fire Service of the Azores reported that, following the adverse weather conditions, "two incidents were recorded between 00:00 and 10:00 local time, on the island of Terceira, both in the municipality of Angra do Heroísmo".
