The change began on Tuesday, with temperatures dropping significantly by around 7º C in some regions, compared to Monday.

For today, the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) predicts highs of 16 degrees and lows of 9 degrees in Lisbon, highs of 14 degrees and lows of 4 degrees in Bragança and highs of 18 degrees and lows of 10 degrees in Faro.

"Despite the drop, temperatures are within the average for this time of year. What they have been is well above average until November 19th", explained meteorologist Maria João Frada.

According to the expert, this drop in temperature is associated with a flow from the North that is transporting a mass of polar air.

"This mass, in addition to being colder and responsible for the drop in temperatures, also brings associated wind. Although temperatures are within the average for the season, the wind adding a chill factor”.
