“As part of the agreement we signed with the European Defense Agency last year, we will be able to contribute one million euros to the acquisition of ammunition for Ukraine in this joint effort”, announced Helena Carreiras, at the end of a ministerial meeting at headquarters of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) in Brussels.
The minister added that large-caliber ammunition, specifically 155-millimetre ammunition, is the “most urgent need that Ukraine has”.
Portuguese investment in the joint acquisition of ammunition is part of the European Union's objective of obtaining one million artillery ammunition by the end of the year.
