The company will open a new store in Entroncamento, Santarém district, today (March 28).
This is the third Action store in Portugal, less than a month after opening the first, in Vila Nova de Gaia, and the second, in Coimbra.
“We are very happy to open our first store in Santarém and our third in Portugal, after opening our first store in the country less than a month ago. This is an important step in our expansion project. We will continue to strengthen our presence in Portugal as more and more Portuguese want to enjoy the unique experience that Action offers”, says Bart Raeymaekers, Regional Director for Benelux, Germany, Italy, Spain and Portugal.
“We are very happy with the warm welcome we received from the Portuguese, which strengthens the commitment of our teams. I want to thank everyone who contributed to this achievement: our employees, our customers and our suppliers”.
With more than 2,500 stores in Europe, Action employs more than 69,000 employees. With the opening of this new store, Action is creating a total of 19 new jobs in Santarém.
Let us hope ‘Action’ they do not pull the same stunt in the exact same way both ‘LIDL' and the ‘Aldi’s' of this world have in Portugal i.e. pretending to be the affordable or cheaper option but when one looks carefully, so many of their products are actually much more expensive.
