"The Tax and Customs Authority is aware that some taxpayers are receiving email messages supposedly coming from AT in which they are asked to click on 'links' that are provided", states the notice published on the Finance Portal.

As usual in these situations, AT shares examples of these false messages, namely one in which the "Dear customer" is warned that "he is entitled to a refund of 250.20 euros".

In another of these false messages, "Dear taxpayer" is informed "that his IRS Declaration, delivered on 10-04-2024, was considered invalid", and in another "Dear Luís" is warned that "due to a change " AT has "recalculated your taxes" and you will be "refunded 48.84 euros due to the overpayment".

"These messages are false and should be ignored. Their objective is to convince the recipient to access malicious pages by clicking on the suggested links. Under no circumstances should you carry out this operation", highlights the AT.
