António Félix da Costa began from third on the grid for Sunday's race and won 0.612 seconds ahead of British driver Jake Hughes (McLaren) and 1.122 ahead of Frenchman Norman Nato (Andretti) after being penalised by five seconds the day before, lowering him from fifth to 18th.

“I'm happy with how we ran. Anyone who has seen our poor performance at the beginning of the year and anyone who witnesses us now winning races like this. The Porsche team and I put in a lot of effort, sacrifice, and perspiration, and these outcomes make it all worthwhile,” the driver from Cascais.

After taking first place in Misano, Italy, Félix da Costa was later ruled ineligible for using an accelerator pedal spring that was not allowed.

The Portuguese driver went on to win in Shanghai, marking his second official victory of the season and his eighth career triumph in the Formula E World Championship for electric single-seaters. He had previously won in Berlin, Germany.

“Although it might be challenging at times to maintain attention, Portuguese people are resilient and hard to break. We now need to enjoy the next four races of the year and work to bring more trophies back to Portugal. It's a tremendous turnaround,” he said.

Following today's results, fourth-place finisher Nick Cassidy (Jaguar) of New Zealand retained his championship lead with 167 points, 25 ahead of German Pascal Wherlein (Porsche).

With 84 points, Félix da Costa moved up to seventh position.

The next competition, which will take place in Portland, Oregon, on June 29 and 30, is scheduled to be a double round once more.
