The visit from this Amadora school to parliament will take place following an invitation from the president of the Assembly of the Republic, José Pedro Aguiar-Branco, who, with this gesture, intends to convey a message of support for policies and social inclusion in Portugal, starting in educational establishments.
According to the program planned by parliament, José Pedro Aguiar-Branco, at 12:00, will wait for the arrival of the 40 students on the main staircase of the Assembly of the Republic. And the students will then be received with military honours.
After the military honours ceremony, the president of the Assembly of the Republic will guide them on a complete tour of the Assembly of the Republic and offer them lunch, before visiting the Parliament's Interpretive Center in the early afternoon.
At the institutional level, José Pedro Aguiar-Branco also marks Republic Assembly Day with a lunch at the official residence of the president of parliament.
A lunch to which former presidents of the Assembly of the Republic, current vice-presidents of parliament, and the leaders of the different parliamentary groups have been invited.
