The 707 million euros loaned last April represent 28.4% more compared to April 2023 and 3.2% more compared to the previous month (March).
According to data released by the central bank on the evolution of new consumer credit, in April, 275 million euros were financed for car purchases, 28.7% more than in the same month of 2023.
In personal credit, financial institutions lent 301 million euros in personal loans without a specific purpose, an increase of 30% year-on-year, and 11.4 million euros for the purposes of education, health, renewable energy, and equipment leasing, with a variation of almost 10%.
In April, banks lent 119 million euros in credit cards, lines of credit, and overdraft facilities, 24% more compared to the same month in 2023.
