The project included the installation of a biomass boiler to heat the pool and a new forced circulation solar thermal system, with a focus on reducing consumption and the building's energy sustainability.
Thermal insulation was also applied to the horizontal roof, which will ensure a significant reduction in thermal losses during the heating season and reduce thermal gains during the cooling season, without compromising airtightness and waterproofing.
The interior of the building also saw its lighting upgraded, in order to achieve greater energy efficiency.
The Castro Marim Municipal Swimming Pool reopens to welcome children and young people from the “Active Holidays” initiative and the community in general while swimming classes are scheduled to begin in September.
