Through a 'time-lapse' recording, it is possible to see the smoke and the intensity of the flames, which have continued to burn for several days in various parts of the island.

Pico do Areeiro is the third highest peak on the island of Madeira at 1,818 metres above sea level, and from here it is possible to see the south coast of Madeira, Curral das Freiras and even the island of Porto Santo.
The peak is also the dividing line between the municipalities of Câmara de Lobos, Santana and Funchal.
