Groundforce provides services to TAP at Portuguese airports in Lisbon, Porto and Faro, and because of the anticipated disruptions, the company has issued advice on social media.
In a statement made public on Facebook, TAP regrets the situation and says it is "actively working to minimise the disruption caused."
Addressing its potential passengers, TAP warns: "Before heading to the airport, we recommend that you check the status of your flight at https://www.flytap.com/pt-pt/ferramenta-informacao-voo
“If it is confirmed, check in online and go to the airport in advance, avoiding taking checked luggage with you”.
TAP also provides another recommendation: “if you want to change your flight now, you can do so here: https://myb.flytap.com/my-bookings”.
What are tourists supposed to do with their checked luggage if they cannot bring it to the airport

I have been on the phone with Tap, on the website and on the app attempting to access my booking so that I can uncheck my check in because they won’t cancel my flight without me personally doing that but the app and the website won’t let me in to do that and now I get an extra charge to have my miles returned. The system is clunky three different people could not help me get in so they’re going to charge me. I’ve notified them that I won’t be on the flight that I want to cancel the flight, but that’s not good enough.
