The membership was formalised through a protocol signed with the Order of Veterinary Doctors, within the scope of the National Program to Support Veterinary Health for Pets at Risk, Faro City Council announced in a statement.
The veterinary check aims to provide healthcare to animals captured by the official collection centre in Faro, as well as to those from needy families duly identified by the municipality.
According to the municipality, the medical and surgical veterinary check can only be granted to animals with electronic identification, with the exception of animals housed in the municipal centre and can only be used in the participating Medical-Veterinary Care Centres.
