1.6 million euros are being invested by Cadaval City Council in projects fully funded by the Recovery and Resilience Plan in order to increase the availability of affordable housing in this municipality. The granting of the construction of a six-unit block on Rua 13 de Janeiro was approved by the municipal executive at the most recent council meeting.

After 27 families were found to be living in their own homes and another 19 in borrowed or rented homes with substandard housing circumstances, the Local Housing Strategy was developed based on a diagnosis of problems. José Bernardo Nunes has told Lusa News Agency that the housing "is one of the most important works of this mandate and is intended for families living in unhealthy conditions that were identified".

Therefore, in addition to having three "practically ready" homes in Peral, Vermelha, and Martim Joanes that are valued at 472 thousand euros, the municipality of the Lisbon district has finished the architectural plans for six more homes spread across the municipality's parishes and is searching for land to buy and construct an additional six.
