In a statement, the Union of Workers in Concierge, Surveillance, Cleaning, Domestic and Miscellaneous Activities Services (Stad) says that the suspension of the 24-hour strike was decided after being contacted by Eulen with the aim of starting negotiations in response to workers' complaints.

“The 24-hour strike and concentration at the airport that were called for Thursday, December 12th, have been suspended by decision of the workers, as the Stad will meet next Tuesday morning, December 17th, with representatives of the company’s management”, says the statement.

At the origin of this strike are demands related to the restoration of “rights lost when the company responsible for the service that these workers provide was changed, namely, reestablishment of working hours in force until June of this year, payment of the transport allowance previously received and the return of unjustly revoked awards and respect for workers”.

Speaking to Lusa, Vivalda Silva, from Stad, had said that 35 workers are at stake who feel harmed by the change in conditions that took place from July onwards, when the Spanish company Eulen replaced the company SAMSIC in providing services general services at Lisbon airport.
