Afro Nation Portugal

The unifying global movement for Afrobeats and amapiano culture, Afro Nation, has announced an unmissable lineup for its fifth-year anniversary edition in Portugal.

Taking place from July 9 to 11 at Praia da Rocha in Portimão, the festival is set to be a landmark event uniting artists and the growing community from around the world in a celebration of music, fashion, and dance.

The recently announced LIT Stage headliners Burna Boy and Tems have already set the tone for Afro Nation Portugal 2025, with more exciting acts now confirmed. Joining the lineup are Odeal, Naza, Franglish, Tiakola, and Qing Made, adding to the list of debut appearances on the main stage.

Over on the Piano People Stage, headliners Scorpion Kings, DBN Gogo, and Oskido will be joined by the likes of Uncle Waffles, Vigro Deep, and Young Stunna. Together they represent a full spread of contemporary African music and culture, on a scale unmatched by any other music festival.

In 2023, Afro Nation Portugal marked its first sell-out year, as the festival saw over 40,000 attendees travel from 140 countries. That year, the festival featured artists such as Megan Thee Stallion, Chris Brown and Wizkid, bringing tens of thousands of music lovers to the region.

NOS Alive

Hosted annually in Algés, near Lisbon, NOS Alive stands as one of the best festivals on the European circuit, encompassing distinct lineups and a wide range of musical genres.

The 17th edition of NOS Alive, taking place from July 10 to 12 at the Passeio Marítimo de Algés, is set to deliver yet another stellar showcase of rock, indie, and electronic music, featuring artists Olivia Rodrigo, Artemas, and Kings of Leon as headliners.

Additionally, the festival’s lineup has also confirmed other names such as Girl in Red, Noah Kahan, Future Islands, Foster the People, Dead Poet Society, Benson Boone, Glass Animals, Amyl and The Sniffers, The Teskey Brothers, St. Vincent, Cmat, and The Backseat Lovers.

In 2024, NOS Alive sold out all three days of the festival and welcomed 165,000 people to the location, who watched around 120 of performances across seven stages. The headliners included Dua Lipa, Pearl Jam, Nothing But Thieves, The Smashing Pumpkins and Arcade Fire.

Paredes de Coura

Franz Ferdinand, Sharon Van Etten & Attachment Theory, and Ana Frango Elétrico are among the first artists announced for the 2025 edition of the Vodafone Paredes de Coura festival, set to take place from August 13 to 16 in Viana do Castelo.

Ritmos, promoter of the event, confirmed that the lineup also features MJ Lederman & The Wind and Jersey. The festival will be once again held at its usual location on the river beach of Toboão, near the village of Paredes de Coura.

The 2024 edition saw acts like André 3000, Killer Mike, L’Impératrice, Sampha, Cat Power, Girl in Red, Fontaines D.C., The Jesus and Mary Chain, and Slowdive.
