Today, Lisbon will host an exclusive workshop organized by the Portuguese Arabian Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with the Portuguese Saudi Business Council (PSBC). The event represents a significant milestone in strengthening economic and cultural ties between Portugal and Saudi Arabia, and I am deeply honored to have been invited to participate.

This workshop will bring together key stakeholders from both countries, showcasing Portugal’s role as a bridge between Europe and the Middle East. The event highlights Portugal’s growing reputation as a dynamic platform for international business, driven by its strategic location, rich cultural history, and ability to foster meaningful collaborations.

The workshop aims to explore new opportunities for investment and collaboration, focusing on sectors critical to Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 plan. Vision 2030 seeks to diversify Saudi Arabia’s economy by expanding investments in areas such as technology, tourism, infrastructure, and healthcare. This aligns seamlessly with Portugal’s strengths, which include innovation, sustainability, and a skilled workforce ready to meet the demands of a rapidly changing global landscape.

Portugal’s emergence as an international business hub is no coincidence. For centuries, the nation has excelled in navigating complex trade routes, forming alliances, and adapting to cultural nuances. Today, these qualities are once again coming to the forefront as Portugal embraces its role as a facilitator of dialogue and commerce.

This event serves as a platform for Portuguese businesses to showcase their expertise, competitiveness, and global outlook. It also underscores the shared ambition of both nations to foster mutually beneficial partnerships that go beyond traditional economic exchanges.

For those of us attending, this workshop is more than just an opportunity to engage with Saudi stakeholders; it is a chance to witness Portugal’s growing influence on the global stage. As an intermediary and collaborator, Portugal is uniquely positioned to bridge gaps, build trust, and unlock potential in partnerships with the Middle East.

The workshop today is a testament to Portugal’s evolving role as a strategic partner in international business, and I am proud to be part of this transformative moment.
