Gail Pinkney spurred the group to swim when conditions were right, with safety in mind, checking the wind strength and the power in the waves and has brought joy and friendship to many in the water. Our comradeship makes sure everyone is helped out of the water, to face the battle of getting dressed. Coffee is often followed at Girassol Restaurant where the beverages taste super delicious after each dip whether calm or rough.

Some of us run in, others tiptoe, some carry lifesaving devices and swim long lengths, but most of us learn to love experiencing the wonderful feeling of cold water seeping through the bones till you feel a pleasant comfort with the water, bobbing up and down in the waves, chatting and discussion life’s ups and down. The cold dip helps to increase immunity, according to Wim Hoff and always leaves us with a feeling of well-being. Sometimes our relatives, friends and children even come along to check out what we are up to…
