In a statement, the EU executive indicates that it has given the 'green light', under the EU Merger Regulation, to the creation of a joint venture between Yunex GmbH from Germany, Via Verde Portugal - Gestão de Sistemas Eletrônicos de Cobrança and Ascendi, both from Portugal.

"The operation mainly concerns the toll road concession market and the distribution of on-board equipment," the institution indicates, without specifying.

According to Brussels, the notified transaction was approved because "it does not raise competition concerns, given that the joint venture carries out negligible activities in the European Economic Area and given the limited combined market position of the companies resulting from the proposed transaction".
