Gralheira, located in Serra do Montemuro, in the municipality of Cinfãe, district of Viseu, is recognised as one of the coldest villages in Portugal.

Located at approximately 1,130 metres above sea level, it is the third-highest village in Portugal, which contributes significantly to its low temperatures, especially during winter.

Winters in Gralheira are very cold. Average temperatures of -3.0°C minimum and 7.3°C maximum were recorded in January with a real feel of -7.0°C. These climatic conditions make Gralheira even colder than the city of Guarda, known for being the highest city in Portugal.
