Juntos Pelo Povo (JPP) became the leader of the Madeiran opposition, having gathered 30,091 votes (21.55%) and now occupies 11 seats in the Legislative Assembly of Madeira, out of a total of 47, which represents two more than in the previous legislature.

The PS lost the place it had held for decades and went from second to third political force in the Madeiran parliament, with a bench of eight members (three fewer than previously), having a vote of 22,351 votes (16%).

Chega also lost one deputy, elected three parliamentarians, receiving 7,821 (5.60%) votes.

Of the 14 candidates running in these elections, the following were left out of the regional parliament: CDU (PCP/PEV), which had 2,543 votes (1.82%), Livre, 959 (0.69%), Nova Direita, 487 (0.35%), PAN, 2,323 (1.66%), the Força Madeira coalition, with 790 votes (0.57%), the PPM, which had 576 (0.41%), the Bloco de Esquerda, with 1,586 (1.14%) and the Alternativa Democrática Nacional (ADN), with 691 votes (0.49%).

These were the third legislative elections held in Madeira in about a year and a half, with 14 lists running in a single constituency: CDU (PCP/PEV), PSD, Livre, JPP, Nova Direita, PAN, Força Madeira (PTP/MPT/RIR), PS, IL, PPM, BE, Chega, ADN and CDS-PP.

The vote took place 10 months after the previous one, following the approval of a motion of censure presented by Chega - which justified it with the judicial investigations involving members of the Regional Government, including the president, Miguel Albuquerque (PSD) - and the dissolution of the Legislative Assembly by the President of the Republic.
