In response toLusa News Agency, following news of reported failures in the supply of electricity, an official source of EDP Distribution stated that it verified “that there have been some interruptions in the regular supply of energy in the last few days”, which are related to “the abrupt drop in temperatures, particularly in Low Voltage networks, in urban areas”.

The same official source admitted that such interruptions “may also be being enhanced by a change in the pattern of electricity consumption, resulting from the increase in remote working”.
The urban areas where these interruptions were recorded have not been detailed.
