“It is with great satisfaction that we see this significant increase in new, highly qualified jobs created in the group’s companies, thus reflecting the growth of activities in the national territory, but above all exports, at a particularly challenging time globally”, says Pedro Pires de Miranda, CEO of Siemens Portugal, quoted in a statement.
Since March 2020, when the pandemic broke out in Portugal, 423 new employees have joined Siemens. Last year alone, the teams were reinforced with another 210 people. And the company also wants to reinforce the teams in 2022, advertising 200 vacancies.
“This growth in terms of human resources will be achieved through the expansion of competence centres and engineering hubs, laboratories and technology centres that already operate in the different facilities of the company”, says Siemens.
“The objective of increasing the team even more is part of the company's sustained growth strategy for the coming years, with a strong focus on the progressive increase in exports. And we are in a unique position, because Portugal is an attractive country to work in. In addition to Portuguese workers, we have 58 other nationalities and 26 languages are spoken in our company. We are the Siemens subsidiary with the most foreigners working locally – an authentic Siemens United Nations”, highlights Pedro Pires de Miranda.
