In a statement, the PJ said that, in collaboration with the Public Security Police (PSP), it identified, located and detained three suspects for the crime of aggravated homicide, robbery and possession of prohibited weapons.
The crime was committed when the victim, a 19-year-old boy, was walking in the Laranjeiras metro station and was then violently assaulted using a bladed weapon, leading to serious injuries that eventually resulted in his death.
"The Judiciary Police, following the urgent investigative steps taken from the outset - collection of trace evidence with expert intervention by the LPC [Scientific Police Laboratory], collection of personal evidence, execution of searches, collection of technical support for video surveillance, with the collaboration of the Metro de Lisboa – came to identify three young people, aged between 18 and 19 years old”, explained the police.
The PJ also adds that the investigation is continuing, towards the full determination of criminal responsibilities.
On Wednesday, the PSP told Lusa that the young man had died at the metro station after being stabbed by two men.
“It was an occurrence at around 13:17, a young man between 18 and 20 years old was attacked with a knife and died at the Laranjeiras station,” reported the PSP.
The two men suspected of the murder “fled after the attacks”.
How on earth can a citizen protect her or himself when the identities of the criminals are zealously protected?
