“These are good indicators, which give us some optimism, some confidence, some tranquility, so that we can believe that, yes, we will have relief in the restrictions”, he acknowledged, stressing that it is necessary to “listen to the experts” on Wednesday.
At the same time, he pointed out, there are still “some indicators” that are “worrying, namely the number of deaths per million inhabitants”.

Just give us back our lives and stop punishing people unneccessarily ' especially so now that the vaccinated are no less likely to catch and transmit this weaker variant than are the non vaccinated. Stop the ridiculous discrimination.

It is clear that Omicron displaces the more serious Delta variant. In countries such as South Africa, Uk and USA where this variant has been allowed to transmit death rates have fallen dramatically. These current restrictions are allowing the prolongation of the Delta variant thus uneccesarily keeping the death rate high!

The TOXIC MISINFORMATION you are spreading can cause the loss of a loved one or friend. I expect you receive you news from Facebook where anyone can say anything and everyone believes it NOT based in science. OVER 900,000 people have died SO FAR in the US because people like you have influenced their decisions not to get vaccinated and I'm sure wear masks. Agreed, masks are not necessary outside on the street walking by someone, that was too much BUT the people NOW dying in the hospitals are 92% UNVACCINATED! Read real news or go to the library and read a medical journal! Do you think all the scientists in the world are wrong. You guys have the patience of a 5 year old which means none. Unvaccinated people CAN pass on Omicron to vexed people and they will get sick because no one had time to develop a Omicron only vax BUT they won't have to go to the hospital in ICU like the untaxed who CAN DIE from Omicron even when on a ventilator. Still OVER 1.5 million infections A DAY in the US and you can't tell me Portugal is immune. FOR NOW, keep masks inside for safety from selfish, inconsiderate people like you who only care about themselves!

Wesley, you are spot on. I think we are all so worn out by this pandemic. there are consequences for us all from dropping masks indoors prematurely or not being vaccinated. While Omicron may pull us out of the pandemic, it is too soon to say what's next and this is based on everything you recommended reading. Stay safe. Stay calm. Portugal is doing much better than most countries navigating these miserable times.
