On its website, the Porto City Council says that “changes in
service” can occur between 9pm on Saturday and 12pm on Sunday and “will be more
evident in periods of higher consumption”, during which “supply failures may
occur”.
According to the municipality, this is a “programmed
intervention”, under the responsibility of the municipal company Águas e
Energia do Porto, together with Metro do Porto, to replace a century-old
pipeline with new infrastructure.
