During the first six months of this year, there were 105,000
fewer cars on Portuguese highways, compared to the same period in 2019.
However, between January and June, Brisa collected a further €1.5 million in
tolls compared to the pre-pandemic period, according to Jornal de Notícias.
In the first half of the year, 3,485,879 cars circulated on
the motorways run by Brisa in Portugal, around 105,000 fewer than in the same
period in 2019, when 3,590,859 vehicles circulated.
Although traffic is still below pre-pandemic levels, toll
revenues have already exceeded 2019 levels. In the first half of 2022, Brisa
earned €287.3 million in tolls, €1.5 million more than when compared to the
285.8 million euros collected in the same period in 2019.
