According to data from the EU Statistical Service,
employment income has increased in all quintiles (statistical indicators to
assess the income distribution of the population as a whole, which is divided
into five strata) but still remains slightly below the pre-Covid-19 pandemic.
Regarding the EU average, Eurostat estimates point to a
positive evolution of income distribution, with strong rises in low-income
households, in line with the decrease in the number of workers affected by
measures to combat the spread of the SARS-CoV virus.
This estimate also takes into account the social protection
measures adopted to stabilise wages and family incomes in force in many Member
States.
