In a request addressed to the Health Commission, Chega
mentions states that “numerous medicines are in short supply throughout the
country, which are vital for the survival of many Portuguese”.
“In September 2022, there were 7.5 million missing
medication packages, 14% more than in August, and 114% more than in the same
period last year”, points out the party, stating that “there are situations
where the replacement of the drug is not possible and, when this happens, the
patient's health condition can worsen”.
They add that “the current war in Ukraine and the escalation
of the cost of energy and raw materials are the causes for the lack of
medicines in stock”.
It should be explained why essential medicines like potassium chloride are missing. I had to buy from Germany.
