According to data from the National Institute of Statistics
(INE), in the same period, apparent labour productivity (measured by the gross
added value generated by each unit of staff at work) was 69.7% higher than that
observed in national companies, reaching 47,507 euros.
In 2021, there were 9,706 branches of foreign companies in
Portugal (1.8% more than in 2020).
In 2021, foreign branches employed around 585,000 people,
representing 17.7% of the total number of workers in non-financial
corporations. On average, each branch employed 60 people in 2021, a much higher
figure than national companies (about six people).
Between 2010 and 2021, foreign subsidiaries registered, on
average, apparent productivity of work 18.3 thousand euros higher than the
average of national companies, with the average monthly remuneration always
higher in foreign subsidiaries, on average 396 euros more than in national
companies.
Although the Portuguese are highly qualified, Portuguese entrepreneurs are mostly not. The people don't have a community vision, sadly, nor the Portuguese feel culturally appropriate to complain or even change jobs.
