When assessing 41 of the 46 foods – which include turkey, chicken, horse mackerel, hake, onion, potato, carrot, banana, apple, orange, rice, spaghetti, sugar, milk, cheese or butter –, which since 18 of April have been exempt from VAT, it was found that on April 17, the basket cost 138.63 euros, however this week it costs 129.19 euros.
Cauliflower was the product that recorded the most price contraction since the entry into force of zero VAT, having recorded a drop of 1%.
On the other hand, in this same period, the biggest rise was recorded in gala apples, whose price soared by 14%, followed by broccoli (11%), golden apples (6%) and deep-frozen peas (4%).
