The organization, on its website, states that “Welcome To Paradise” is an “international Christian festival that brings together young people from all over the world and takes place annually in France”, but this year it is being held in Portugal due to WYD being held in Lisbon.


In total, more than 4,000 young people from 40 countries, belonging to 20 Christian churches, are expected for five days of prayer, socializing, sports activities or simple trips to the beach.

At the end, young people travel to Lisbon to participate in WYD activities.
