The construction project is expected to begin at the end of this year and predicts an investment of €120 million, which will go into the construction of two new buildings and the requalification of a few other structures and surrounding areas.

The faculty which has around 2,400 bachelor’s and master’s degree students will see the size of one of the new buildings more than double to accommodate the school's academic activities. The other building will be home to the university and rectory services, a conference centre, and an innovation and technology centre. As Filipe Santos, director of the Católica Lisbon School of Business and Economics has announced the aim is to accommodate “4,500 students within five years, especially in master's degrees.”

The new campus which will be named ‘Veritati’ and will cost €120 million will be constructed with the investment of private funds and revenue from the university itself. After successfully raising €16 million from private investors, Católica is starting a new chapter by formally launching the "Together We Shape the Future" initiative to engage civic society at a ceremony in Pátio da Galé, in Lisbon. “The campaign has already started and will now enter a more visible, more public phase and with a set of activities to boost our alumni network”, Filipe Santos has mentioned.

“All other areas of the Catholic University in Lisbon are also limited in space and will be able to grow”, the director stated adding that the investment will allow the usable area of the Lisbon campus to be increased by 50 percent. Aimed to be completed in 2027, the new university 'campus' will benefit many students who intend to study at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa.
