Around 20 companies, members of APAL – Albufeira Promotion Agency, have participated in promoting Albufeira during events in Boston and New York.

Between the 14th and 16th of May, the companies “were able to develop contacts with a view to establishing partnerships and businesses”, according to APAL.
The US market is considered by APAL to be an “important market for Albufeira, as it has a large margin for growth and is based on a tourist profile with great purchasing power”.
Albufeira receives around 20% of total North American overnight stays in the Algarve, with the majority of stays being outside of the main summer season.

What problems do you have with the Americans?
They are coming after tourist season as per the article.
They are providing a vitality that has not existed before.
More establishments are staying open through the winter because there are people to buy their goods and services......this is a bad thing?
