As in the previous edition, the cost of buying a plate of five grilled sardines, bread, boiled potatoes, and Algarvian-style salad, without drink with be €10.50.
This service is once again provided by the local associations' Boa Esperança Atlético Clube Portimonense, Clube Desportivo e Recreativo da Pedra Mourinha, Clube União Portimonense, GEJUPCE – Gil Eanes Juventude Portimonense Clube and Grupo Desportivo e Recreativo Alvorense.
In addition to the official venue, visitors can eat grilled sardines in six partner restaurants in the riverside area, such as Dona Barca, Forte e Feio, Retiro do Peixe Assado, Peixarada, Ú Venâncio and Zizá, where prices set by each establishment.
The festival will also feature a varied program of show cooking with guest chefs, in partnership with the Confraria Gastronómica da Sardinha de Portimão, presenting alternative dishes to the traditional sardines, but with sardines in their genesis.
For visitors looking for alternatives to grilled sardines, the communities and the exhibitor area will also provide various menus and proposals, with plenty of snacks, sweets, and the best that regional crafts and the agri-food sector have to offer, according to the municipality.
The musical entertainment will take place on three stages: “Música no Jardim”, “Palco Sardinha” and “Palco Principal”, with the concerts in the latter venue starting at 10pm, with the following line-up: Áurea (July 30), Sara Correia ( July 31), Anjos (August 1), Richie Campbell (August 2), Marisa Liz (August 3) and Delfins (August 4).
The 28th Sardine Festival opens from 6pm to midnight and has free entry.
