According to a source from the National Republican Guard (GNR), the vehicle skidded off the road and overturned onto the road, at kilometre 83 of the A1, in the north-south direction, occupying the middle lane and the right-hand lane.

The accident occurred at 10:00 and traffic is currently only on the left lane, which is causing a traffic queue of around 2.5 kilometres.

The same source added that the accident only involved the heavy goods vehicle and that there was only material damage, clarifying that there was no merchandise scattered on the roads.

“In terms of alternative routes, it is national road 3, kilometre 94, Torres Novas exit”, he advised, refusing to predict when the vehicle will be removed or traffic will return to normal.

A GNR patrol remains at the scene.
