A conservation organisation in Zambia’s Kafue National Park has reported that the leopard population has tripled, now reaching 4.4 per 100 square metres.

The Kafue National Park is nested inside the Greater Kafue Ecosystem, which is part of the Kavango Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area, the largest terrestrial conservation landscape in the world.
Through camera trap surveys and smarter anti-poaching controls, leopard numbers have surged, while the decline of lions has reserved, highlighting the vital role of top predators in maintaining ecosystem health.
