The Fundão City Council will test a camouflage capsule, covered in cork, for people who wish to work in a private area in nature that blends in with the surroundings. After the licensing procedure is finished, the ‘Eco Work’ capsule, which faces the Serra da Estrela and Cova da Beira, will soon start to be used experimentally, mainly as a co-working space.

As the mayor Paulo Fernandes explained, “It is a prototype, a purely experimental project, which we call a capsule individualised work logic, with approaches that are very connected to nature”. Moreover, these areas are supposed to be placed "in unlikely locations and very integrated into the natural context" within the terrain.

After the prototype is licensed, the municipality intends to put a number of them in various places throughout the Gardunha mountain range, as well as along riverbanks, stream beds, and other spots “that have a great scenic expression”, according to Paulo Fernandes.

The Economic Enhancement of Endogenous Resources Programme (Prove) assisted 80% of the approximately 15 thousand euros spent on the adaptation work for the building, which had previously undergone intervention. As Paulo Fernandes stated, “People can have their own office space, the company where they work, the institution where they work, but why not, one day, every now and then, get out of their routine and be able to work from a co-working space?”.

In that way, the digital key provides access to the ten “coworks” spread across the municipality of Fundão. Using the network of shared workplaces costs 20 euros per month, though use can also be done on an hourly basis.
