Peugeot started the year 2025 as the market leader in Portugal. With 1,420 passenger cars registered, the French brand dominated the first month of the new year, as was the case in 2024.

Behind Peugeot were Dacia (1,311) and Toyota (1,192). Mercedes-Benz and BMW close the top 5 in the national market with 1,065 and 1,044 vehicles delivered, respectively.
Renault ranked sixth in national sales (937) ahead of Nissan (762), Kia (607) and Volkswagen (572). Opel (557) rounded out the top 10 best-selling brands in January this year.
Also noteworthy is BYD (392) which, for the first time, delivered more new passenger vehicles than Tesla (389) on national soil.

If Peugeot /Citroen are still using wet belts I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole. You only have to look at You Tube to see how much they go wrong and how much it costs to replace the engines when the belt fails prematurely.
