The young men were arrested following an investigation that began "three months ago" and which enabled the GNR's Loulé Criminal Investigation Centre to gather evidence.

The investigators claim, according to the same source, "that the suspects were acting with violence, using weapons, having carried out more than a dozen robberies on public highways, as well as in commercial establishments and at petrol stations".

In possession of this information, the police authorities obtained warrants to arrest the suspects and carry out house searches, during which "three white weapons and several articles of clothing were seized", revealed the GNR's Territorial Command of Faro.

The two detainees will be brought before the court for their first judicial interrogation and to find out what coercive measures will be applied to them.
