The message reads, in English, “Blindly sailing for monney humanity is drowning in a scarllet sea lia”.

The situation was registered by the PSP during the morning, around 11:30 am, and the fact was communicated to the Lisbon City Council, which oversees the monument, the PSP service official, commissioner Rodrigues, told Lusa.

The graffiti was made by unknown persons, with no suspect identified, the police officer said.
