According to Informa D&B: “From January to July 2022, most
sectors register an increase in the incorporation of companies compared to
2021”.
Transport was one of the sectors that stood out in terms of
the creation of new companies until July, with 1,228 more new companies than in
the same period last year, which corresponds to an increase of 124%.
In the Hotel and Restaurant sector, in the first seven
months of the year, another 551 companies were set up, which represents an
increase of 25% compared to the same period in 2021.
In total, between January and July, 28,989 new companies
were created in Portugal, which represents a growth of 17% compared to the same
period in 2021.
Despite the improvement compared to 2021, when compared to 2019,
data from Informa D&B shows that “new company creation remains low in
almost all sectors of activity”, with the exception of Information and
Communication Technologies (+27% ) and Real Estate Activities (+18%).
