The document indicates “the total stoppage and absence from the workplace” of doctors who “work in the Autonomous Region of the Azores, in the area of the Regional Health Administration of the Alentejo and in the area of the Regional Health Administration of the Algarve”.

The strike runs from 00:00 on the 30th of August until 24:00 on the 31st.

The union demands “a proposal for a salary scale that restores the career of accumulated losses due to the inflationary erosion of the last decade and that positions the entire medical profession, including interns, with honour and justice in the single remuneration table of the civil service”.

A new negotiating meeting between unions and the Government is scheduled for September 11th.

During August and September, SIM has scheduled strikes in other regions of the country.
