Organised by Animal Save and Care Portugal, Vegans for Love and Associação Nova Atlântida, this march began initially in 2016, in London, and became worldwide two years later, “bringing together tens of thousands of people”.

The gathering is scheduled for Rossio, followed by a march to Alameda Dom Afonso Henriques.

Participants intend to draw attention to the situation of animals that, “due to traditions, beliefs and tastes”, are used, exploited, tortured and killed on a daily basis.

“This event aims to unite people's voices for all animals and fight for the recognition of the rights that are systematically stolen from them: the right to be free, the right to life, the right to legal protection, the right to a habitat and the right to be rescued”, reads a statement.
