This offer is being presented in 18 countries however Portugal has been left off the list.
According to NM, in Europe, the offer is valid in Germany, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Spain, Finland, France, Hungary, Italy, Iceland, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, the United Kingdom, Romania, Sweden and Turkey.
Tesla Supercharger users simply need to link their credit card to the brand's app to charge the vehicle.
Important details are missing from your article. The free Supercharging offer is only for those non-Tesla EVs which are charging at a Supercharger for the first time. Not all Spercharging locations are open to non-Teslas. Those which are normally very busy are restricted to Tesla only. Portugal only has 8 Supercharger locations - very few considering the number of Teslas which are now on our roads.
None of them are open to non-Teslas. Tesla have been prevented from expanding the Supercharging network due to some issue with the power supplier. I do not know the details of this, but it is very frustrating for Portuguese owners.
EV owners reading your article may get the impression that Tesla is being unfair to them by not letting them take advantage of this free charging offer. That is certainly not the case. Opening up their charging network around the world to owners of other EV brands is in line with Tesla’s mission to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy and transport.
Hopefully Portugal’s Supercharger network will soon expand so that all EV owners can take advantage of these incredibly fast, reliable, and low cost chargers.
