According to idealista, the Urbanisation will be built in Estefânia (Lisbon), next to the headquarters of the Judiciary Police and behind Liceu Camões, a new urbanisation of 11 buildings, with a maximum of five floors. There will be a total of 102 housing units, commerce and services on a plot of land measuring around 13,000 square meters (m2) that belonged to Bragaparques and is now in the hands of Chinese investors.
At issue, according to Público, is the Casal de Santa Luzia subdivision operation, which proposes 885 m2 of public gardens, much less than initially planned in 2011, when an urban intervention was approved there that ended up not moving forward: it was, at the time, 3,661 m2.
The subdivision operation promoted by Advancefigure — SA, which is under public consultation until February 13th, is divided into two instalments and foresees the opening between them of a new street, with car and pedestrian circulation, which will connect Rua Dona Estefânia, next to the intersection with Rua Alexandre Braga, next to the School of Veterinary Medicine, writes the publication.
The proposed project being approved and implemented is the final point in a decades-long impasse in occupying the space of that large plot located in the heart of the capital, in the case of a very troubled urban planning process, particularly in the last two decades.
885 sq m of garden !!! 13000 sq m of building...who are they kidding?? So the kids living there won't have room to throw a ball. When when when will planning wake up and make thieving developers commit to real green space!!! If anyone thinks this is progress, they are fooling themselves, and no one else.
