"We are delighted to announce the biggest schedule for the summer of 2024 in Portugal, where we continue to grow and open 14 new routes," he said, but "unfortunately [...] the high fees of the ANA monopoly are forcing airlines like Ryanair to reduce regional flights to/from Portugal", said the official, criticizing the increase in fees.
"We demand that the Portuguese Government immediately open Montijo airport to end ANA's monopoly on high fees in Lisbon forever", reads the statement released at the press conference, taking place in Lisbon.

Why can't Ryanair just lease or buy the airport or would TAP get the government to stop that. It seems like TAP ( the biggest drain on Portuguese money) has more say than anyone else in the country
