In the south of the country, the municipalities of Aljezur, Lagos, Monchique, Portimão, Silves, Loulé, São Brás de Alportel and Tavira are on maximum alert.

In the district of Bragança, the IPMA put in maximum danger the municipalities of Mirandela, Macedo de Cavaleiros, Vila Flor, Alfândega da Fé, Torre de Moncorvo and Freixo de Espada à Cinta.

In Portalegre, the municipalities of Gavião, Castelo de Vide, Marvão, and Portalegre are on high alert.

Due to the hot weather, about 50 municipalities in the districts of Faro, Beja, Santarém, Portalegre, Castelo Branco, Guarda, Viseu, Vila Real and Bragança are also in very high danger of fire.

According to IPMA calculations, the risk of fire will remain high in some districts at least until Wednesday.

This risk, determined by IPMA, has five levels, ranging from reduced to maximum, and the calculations are obtained from air temperature, relative humidity, wind speed, and amount of precipitation in the last 24 hours.

The IPMA predicts for today on the continent a slightly cloudy or clear sky and a decrease in temperature, with the possibility of periods of light rain or drizzle, until the end of the morning, on the Central coast.

The minimum temperatures will oscillate between 13 degrees Celsius (in Viseu and Guarda) and 18 (in Faro) and the maximum between 21 (in Viana do Castelo, Porto, Aveiro and Leiria) and 31 (in Faro).
