During the service, which took place in the Courtyard of the ASCA complex in Almancil, the members of the Congregation gathered were also invited to renew their Baptismal vows. Utsab and Utsah were then invited into the water, and each were baptised “In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit” by Lay Assistant Terry Blackman and the candidates were received into the family of Christ with a resounding cheer.
Prayers then were said for the newly baptised asking for God to give them “An inquiring and discerning heart, the courage to will and to persevere, a spirit to know and love you, and the gift of joy and wonder in all your works.”
“Baptism is a public declaration of a changed life , a desire to be in relationship with Jesus and to fully follow him” said Steve Chisholm, Rector of Christ The King “We are so happy to be welcoming the boys into our worldwide Church family, and will take great joy in watching them grow and prosper in the Lord”.
Utsab and Utsah, accompanied by their very proud parents, lifted high their lit Baptismal Candles, accepted their Baptism certificates and received their gifts including a personalised plaque from church to help them to remember this very special day. Then it was down to the important business of cutting their cakes and celebrating with all of the Congregation present.
