Property management software developed by GuestReady has concluded that Portuguese guests are in the top 3 of the most demanding and critical of their stays in local accommodations and holiday homes.
This analysis compared guest satisfaction levels in various parameters, from cleanliness to the check-in process, location, and value for money. In the three cases of nationalities that frequently give the lowest ratings, cleanliness and value for money were the aspects that most disappoint the most demanding guests and, therefore, deserve lower scores.
The Portuguese, despite giving more 5-star reviews, occupy the last place on the podium of most critical guests in their comments, closely following Spanish and Italians.
North Americans appear to be the most satisfied and also the most generous in their reviews, given that 68% of these guests leave a 5-star rating, thus distancing themselves from the British and Brazilians, who complete the podium, both giving the maximum rating on 64% of occasions.
Among the countries that gave the best reviews, the factors that they value most and rate best are the check-in process, the location of the property, communication, and the coherence and transparency of information.
The conclusions are shared by RentalReady, a property management program developed by GuestReady and used by accommodation managers around the world, reflecting an analysis of the reviews of more than one million guests who booked thousands of accommodation units, mainly in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and North America.
Portuguese writing 'bad' reviews is no wonder. A lot of them use the rented holiday home in a way that the house is fully 'used and dirty', worse than guests from other countries. Or come with more people than announced. And afterwards say they expected more or the description is faulty. Hence a bad review. We try to avoid Portuguese holiday makers...
